The front door of the cottage, accessed through Barefoot yard, an interesting name suggesting a connection of little understood use from earlier times when the four Cottages housed skilled Brewery workers of the former Uckfield Brewery. Chestnut Cottage in Uckfield is an excellent base for exploring the best natural beauty of Sussex, Ashdown Forest, High Weald for outstanding outings, even a preserved Roman Road, Bluebell Railway for rail enthusiasts, Glyndebourne, Ancient Woodlands, many of the best National Trust properties close by.
Brighton, Eastbourne, Newhaven and Hastings are some nearby exciting visits easily reached on the South Coast. Walk down the High Street for every type of shop including Carvills, WH Smith, Boots, Currys, book shops, tea shops and lots more! At the bottom of the High Street the newly upgraded Uckfield line will take you to London Bridge in 1 hour 20 mins for everything London has to offer.

Changeovers
Cottage ready for entry from 1.00pm. We ask our guests to please depart by no later than 10.00am on their day of departure in order that we may have time to prepare the Cottage for our next guests.
Booking Conditions
A non-refundable deposit of £125 per week is required to secure your booking, with the balance payable eight weeks prior to your arrival. £200 key, damages/loss deposit required with the balance, returnable at the end of your stay.
